(KNZA)--A Saturday night traffic stop in Jackson County sent two from Missouri to jail on drug charges.
Arrested were 36-year-old Carrie Roberts, the driver of the car, and 48-year-old Gregory Wright Jr., both from Saint Joseph.
The car was originally stopped for a traffic infraction just off U.S. Highway 75 and Banner Street in Holton, but deputies allege that drug paraphernalia, and a substance believed to be methamphetamine, were located in the vehicle.
Also discovered is what Jackson County Sheriff Tim Morse calls an assortment of identification and financial cards, a variety of collectibles, and a large sum of U.S. currency. Sheriff's investigators are working with Missouri authorities to learn more about those items.
Roberts is facing charges of possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia, three counts of possession of mislaid property, driving while suspended, no insurance, and transporting an open container.
Wright is facing charges of possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia, and three counts of mislaid property.
Both remain in the Jackson County Jail.
The arrests were made around 9:30 Saturday night.
