(KAIR)--A former Physicians assistant at the Leavenworth VA hospital, accused of sexually abusing patients has been appointed an attorney.
The Leavenworth Times reports that Horton resident Mark Wisner was deemed partially indigent by District Judge Gunnar Sundby during a hearing Wednesday in Leavenworth County District Court, and was ordered to pay $500 towards attorney fees.
Wisner's next court appearance has been set for October 2nd.
Wisner has been charged with one count of felony criminal sodomy in one case, and three counts of misdemeanor sexual battery in a second case.
KSHB-TV reports that Wisner voluntarily surrendered his license in February after allegations arose that he had sexually abused several patients in his care. He is also accused of over medicating patients, keeping inaccurate records, and not referring patients when needed.
