(KLZA)-- Richardson County Commissioners this week tabled a tort claim filed last month on behalf of former county jail administrator David Clark.
The Board was also made aware of notices received from the Nebraska Equal Opportunity Commission that two different charges of discrimination have been filed against Richardson County: The first was filed by Julie Houser through the Nebraska Fair Employment Practice Act and Nebraska Age Discrimination in Employment Act. The second was filed by Clark through the Nebraska Fair Employment Practice Act.
Clark served as jail administrator under former Sheriff Randy Houser. He was not allowed to continue in the position when Sheriff Don Pounds took office in January.
Clark claims he was terminated and his first amendment right was violated along with the Nebraska Fair Employment Act. He also claims religious discrimination and retaliation for filing a workers compensation case.
Clark contends he was discriminated against on the basis of sex, religion, retaliation and for being a whistle blower.
Julie Houser, the wife of former Sheriff Randy Houser who worked as a temporary part-time jailer/dispatcher claims in her discrimination case she was discriminated against due to marital status and age.
