(KMZA)--Forward momentum is being made in evaluating the possibility of establishing a performing arts center in the city of Seneca.
Seneca Chamber Director, and the Director of Seneca Downtown Impact, Kylie Luckeroth, says a committee is now formed to explore the idea. “A group of community members formed a steering committee to try and put together an idea of building a performing arts center and fine arts center in Seneca,” Luckeroth tells MSC News. “The idea is currently about an auditorium and then possibly some classroom type spaces, possibly meeting spaces, an art gallery.”
Luckeroth says the steering committee was formed as the result of a public meeting held late last month. The idea of the performing arts center, proposed as a joint project between the city and the local school district, remains only in the earliest of stages. “There's no actual plans made or anything,” Luckeroth says. “We're still in the planning stages.”
Luckeroth says another public meeting will be held on the evening of Wednesday, September 23rd, at 6:00, at the Seneca Library Community Room.
