Pawnee Count Board Discusses Ag Buildings

(KLZA)-- Pawnee County Commissioners met with Emergency Manager Clint Strayhorn this week regarding an authorization letter for a disaster declaration. Strayhorn was appointed as the authorized representative for Pawnee County for the federally authorized disaster. 

The annual Southeast Nebraska Community Action update was presented. Pawnee County 4-H Foundation members Karly Black, Lisa Hunzeker, April McHenry and Kevin Branek met with the Board regarding the buildings at the Pawnee County Fairgrounds. They are hoping to build a new building and are hoping to start raising funds. Commissioners took no action and asked the 4-H Foundation to come back when they have a plan and estimated costs for the building. 

Bids were opened for the sale of surplus county property. Property sold included a 1988 GMC pickup and a 1985 MAC Truck to Matt Bloss for $1,000 each;  a 2005 Crown Vic to Kyle Gottula for $250 and a 2009 Crown Vic was sold to Mike Rath for $611.

The Board decided not to sell a CAT D6 bulldozer and CAT paddle scraper as surplus property after meeting with Highway Superintendent Chris Rauner.  

In other business a letter of support was approved for Five Rivers RC& D regarding a household hazardous waste grant. Scott Farwell was appointed to the County Planning Commission Board and the Board of Adjustment.
