(KAIR)--The City of Atchison is in the process of hiring a new city Building Inspector after Malcolm Grier stepped down from the position last week.
City Manager Trey Cocking says the city does “wish Malcolm the best on future endeavors, and appreciate the time he was with the city.”
Cocking adds that changes could be made to the job before a new person is hired. He says that “before, Stephanie Lief, when she was Community Development Director, she handled not only economic development, but planning and zoning functions. So I think that we are hoping that we can move some of these zoning functions to the new building official when we hire them.”
Cocking says city officials hope to have the position filled by the end of the month.
