(KAIR)--A Leavenworth County child is among two injured in an ATV related accident this week in Missouri.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol says it happened early Sunday evening in Nodaway County when the two 9-year-old children were riding the Honda 4-wheeler when it crashed through a barricade and went off an embankment, falling 12 to 15 feet. The Patrol says the roadway had washed out at the location where the accident occurred.
The 9-year-old boy in control of the 4-wheeler, Major Scarborough, of Maryville, Missouri, and his passenger, Avery Pruden of Tonganoxie, Kansas, were both transported by private vehicle for hospitalized treatment.
Scarborough suffered what the Patrol identifies as moderate injuries, while Pruden's are identified as minor.
The wreck happened around 5:15.
