Nemaha County NE. Advertising For Public Defender

(KLZA)-- The Nemaha County, Nebraska Commissioners have approved an interlocal agreement with the Nemaha Natural Resources District for surfacing and drainage improvements on a 1.8-mile portion of the existing Steamboat Trace Trail. The NRD will pay all the costs associated with the improvements. Scott Nelson with the Nemaha NRD met with Commissioners last week to finalize details.

Jim Cain, Albert Fuller and Mike Casey have been appointed to a Policy Board to review applications received for the position of Public Defender for Nemaha County.  Last week Commissioners authorized the County Clerk to advertise for applications to serve as Nemaha County Public Defender. 

A resolution was approved setting the Mutual Funding Organization and Agriculture levies for the next fiscal year.  The MFO levy will be just over 3.5-cents and the Ag Society levy will be 4.38 cents.

An agreement between Johnson, Nemaha, Richardson and Pawnee counties and Maxine Schatz was approved to implement 4-County Juvenile Service Diversion Education.
