(KNZA)--A Brown County bridge near the Nebraska state line damaged by flooding this spring will be replaced.
The County Commission Monday accepted a proposal from Columbus, Nebraska-based Husker Steel for the replacement of the bridge on 320th Road over Noharts Creek about five miles east of Reserve.
The current 90-foot truss bridge will be replaced with a 95-foot steel beam bridge with a concrete deck.
Husker Steel will provide the materials for a cost of just over $253,000 and Norfolk Contracting will provide the labor at a cost of nearly $24,000.
The county will be responsible for the removal of the existing bridge, and purchase of the concrete.
Chris Edelman with Husker Steel said the project will be take place next spring and is expected to take 3-4 weeks.
