(KAIR)--A Kansas City man who led Atchison police on a short foot pursuit in March, has been sentenced on charges related to the case.
25-year-old Blaine Walker appeared in Atchison County District Court Monday afternoon where he was sentenced to 13 months in prison on one felony count of possession of methamphetamine, and to 12 months in jail on one misdemeanor count of interference with a law enforcement officer. The judge suspended all but sixty days in jail, and placed him on eighteen months of supervised probation.
Walker was arrested in June after an Atchison Police Department investigation. Investigators say he led police on a short foot chase after exiting a vehicle being pursued by police following a traffic stop. Walker managed to avoid capture, but allegedly dropped what appeared to be methamphetamine as he ran.
