(KLZA)-- The school doors will open for the 125th year at Sacred Heart School on Thursday, August 13th. School will start at 8:00 a-m and dismiss at 3:10 p-m for preschool through sixth grades and 3:23 p-m for grades 7-12th; school lunches will be served and bus routes will be running. There will be a flag raising ceremony at 9:30 a-m on the south side of school for all grades followed by an Opening Day Mass at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. Parents and the public are welcome.
The Home and School Association will host an All School (Preschool-12th) Open House in conjunction with the new Roh Activity Center dedication on Wednesday, August 12th from 6:00 p-m to 7:00 p-m in the activity center; The Most Reverend Bishop James D. Conley will be present for the dedication at 6:00 p-m, light refreshments will be served. The school office will be open to accommodate families wanting to make tuition and lunch payments.
Father Thomas Dunavan is the new Chief Administrative Officer at Sacred Heart this year. Sacred Heart is fully accredited by the State of Nebraska and is in compliance with all state curriculum standards.
Preschool hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 3:10 p-m. The After School Daycare will be available for Sacred Heart Families beginning the first day of school, please contact Sue Ebel for more information and to sign up for these services.
Hot lunch will be served Monday through Friday in the school cafeteria. Lunch prices will be $2.00 for Preschool, $2.70 for grades K-6, $2.80 for grades 7-12 and $3.25 for adults. Reduced price meals will be .40 cents. Free and reduced lunch applications have been mailed to all Sacred Heart families and need to be returned to school as soon as possible.
