(KLZA)--More arrests are made in connection with a Falls City shooting Wednesday that left a Falls City man with critical injuries.

According to the Nebraska State Patrol, 29-year-old John Hall was taken into custody for tampering with evidence and possession of a controlled substance.

Hall was allegedly at the 1418 Morton Street home where the shooting happened, but has a Shubert address.

A Patrol investigator says Hall heard a loud noise in the lower level of the home, where he found 31-year-old Falls City resident Joseph Debella Jr. suffering from a gunshot wound to the head. It's alleged Hall then removed a methamphetamine pipe, a drug-related scale, and a bandanna, which he threw outside.

Also taken into custody in connection with the case is 19-year-old Brett Winters.

He was arrested by the Patrol for tampering with evidence.

The alleged gunman is also behind bars, arrested early Thursday morning following a near 7 hour standoff that began early Wednesday evening in Horton.

Desiderio Hernandez was initially booked into the Brown County Jail prior to being returned to Nebraska.

In 2013, Hernandez was sentenced to intensive supervised probation and a work ethic camp in Richardson County on a felony charge of assault in the first degree. He was originally charged with attempted second degree murder for cutting the throat of another man in Falls City.

Debella, meanwhile, remains hospitalized due to the extent of his injuries.
