(KNZA)--Four local Head Start Centers are set to close.
That word Thursday from NEK-CAP, Inc. which says the centers in Sabetha, Oskaloosa, Troy and Wamego are being shut down.
The press release states the decision follows lengthy deliberation, and stems from conditions including changes of some key staff, new expectations from the Head Start Region Seven Office, a review of Head Start strategic plans, and fiscal evaluation of the Head Start Program.
While the release states that Early Head Start and Family and Community Resources will continue to serve the counties where the closures are occurring, there's no immediate word on options available to those served by the centers.
An exact date for the closings is not yet stated.
