(KNZA)--An unoccupied rural Robinson house sustained major damage in a fire early Thursday morning.
The Robinson Fire Department was called to the house located at Timber Road and U.S. 36 Highway shortly after 2:00.
Robinson Fire Chief Dennis Tietjens said flames were coming from the center of the house, through the roof, when firefighters arrived.
Entry was made by fire crews who were able to extinguish the fire.
Tietjens said the middle of the house received the worst fire damage, with the rest of the structure receiving major smoke and water damage.
The fire is under investigation by the State Fire Marshal’s office.
Assisting at the scene were fire crews from Hiawatha, Everest, Highland, Horton and Morrill along with the Brown County Rescue Squad, Town and Country EMS and the Brown County Sheriff’s office.
