(KLZA)--A construction accident in Pennsylvania has claimed the life of a Falls City man.
According to a report from the Pennsylvania State Police, 54-year-old Ricky Dettman died in construction accident involving a bulldozer shortly before 11:50 eastern time on Tuesday.
The report says Dettman was operating a bulldozer on a steep grade in a pipeline area, in Union Township, Tioga County, Pennsylvania. At some point the bulldozer began to roll down the hill, and rolled numerous times before coming to rest in an upright position.
Dettman was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Elmira Star Gazette reports Dettman was part of a construction crew working on a 36-inch natural gas pipeline to take natural gas from the Utica Shale and deliver it to markets across the country. Dettman's crew was working on behalf of Energy Transfer Partners.
Ricky Dettman is survived by his wife June, a daugheter Amanda Lindstrom, a son Greg and brothers Terry and Tom Dettman.
Funeral arrangments are pending.
