(KNZA)--An ATV crash on private property near Whiting sent an 8-year-old girl to the hospital Thursday afternoon.
Jackson County Sheriff Tim Morse says the ATV, being ridden by three juvenile girls, overturned and landed on the 8-year-old, who was flown by helicopter for treatment at an area hospital.
Morse says it's believed the child suffered a possible back injury.
The other two girls were not hurt.
Joining the Sheriff's Office at the scene were the Whiting Fire Department, Jackson County EMS and the Kansas Department of Wildlife, Parks and Tourism.
