(KAIR)--An Atchison woman was taken into custody Wednesday on charges stemming from an injury wreck that took place last week.
Police Chief Mike Wilson says 24-year-old Hailey Burge was arrested on a District Court warrant for leaving the scene of an accident, failure to report an accident, no proof of insurance, and failure to stop at a stop sign. She was also arrested on Municipal Court Warrants for failure to appear in court for an unrelated case.
The wreck happened after Burge ran a stop sign on Seventh Street and struck 20-year-old Atchison resident Allison Wallisch as she was traveling westbound on Spring Street.
Both Burge and Wallisch were transported to the Atchison Hospital for treatment of possible injuries.
Burge remains in the Atchison County Jail.
