(KNZA)--A jury trial has been set for a Topeka man accused of firing shots at motorists on U.S. 75 Highway in southern Jackson County this past New Year’s eve.
Jackson County District Court Judge Michael Ireland Friday set a 4-day trial for 51-year-old Cory Huff, beginning January 19th.
Huff is charged with four counts of attempted second-degree murder, two counts of discharge of a firearm at an occupied vehicle and reckless driving.
He is accused of shooting at two vehicles on U.S. 75 Highway on December 31st of last year. No injuries were reported in the incident, which Jackson County Attorney Shawna Miller calls a random act of road rage.
Huff remains in the Jackson County Jail, held on $250,000 bond. However, Ireland said Friday he would consider a request for a bond reduction.
