(KNZA)--A Hiawatha woman took a trip to the Hospital Friday morning after suffering injuries that occurred while bicycling.
Brown County Sheriff John Merchant says it happened around 10:30 when 26-year-old Gabrielle Lierz was riding a bike eastbound on 240th Road, about a mile and a-half east of Hiawatha. The injuries occurred when her left arm was struck by the passenger side mirror of an eastbound Jeep, driven by 78-year-old Robert Jury of Hiawatha.
Lierz was transported by ambulance to the Hiawatha Community Hospital for treatment.
The investigation is ongoing.
The Brown County Sheriff's Office was joined by the Brown County Rescue Squad, Hiawatha Police, and Hiawatha Fire in handling the incident.
