Richardson Co Board Appoints Vet Rep

(KLZA)-- Richardson County Commissioners Tuesday reviewed recommendations from three veterans organizations for the appointment to the Veterans Service Committee. Wayne Kreutzer will serve a 5-year term on the committee, serving through June 30, 2020.

A proposals was presented to the Board by the Veterans Service Committee members Brian Palmer and James Beckner requesting the salary for Veterans Service Officer Ramona Godeman be increased $3 per hour. Commissioners said they would review the request and discuss it further during the budget hearings.

Sheriff Don Pounds was authorize to advertise for sealed bids / quotes for furnishing jail meals. Prior to the action the Board terminated the contract with Hot Dish for furnishing the jail meals effective immediately.

The Board approved acceptance of the Highway Allocation funds revenue for fiscal year 2015-16 to help address local road and bridge maintenance and construction needs. Also approved was a proposal from Mezger Construction for replacement of the stairs on the south side of the Richardson County Courthouse with the cost estimated at $14,648.

An agreement with the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services for the enforcement of child support collections and services provided by the County Attorney and Clerk of the District Court was approved.
