(KMZA)--A 19-year-old Leavenworth man is jailed in Pottawatomie County, held on numerous charging following the report of a shooting Thursday morning. is
Travis Doughty was arrested on charges of Aggravated Assault, Fleeing to Elude, Reckless Driving, Criminal Discharge of a Firearm, and Criminal Damage to property.
Pottawatomie County Sheriff Greg Riat says the arrest came after a motorist, in the area of Carnahan Creek Road, reported they believed their vehicle had been shot at.
A search was launched for the suspect, and suspect vehicle, which was spotted by Riley County Police. A pursuit began but ended in the rural Olsburg area due to the high rate of speed and dangerous driving conditions.
Numerous law enforcement Officers from Pottawatomie County, Riley County, Kansas Highway Patrol, Kansas Highway Patrol Aircraft, Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks, Onaga Police Department, and Marshall County Sheriff's Office then converged on the area, with the suspect vehicle located later in the morning.
Assisted by aircraft, law enforcement was able to then locate Doughty at a residence where he was arrested.
