(KAIR)--Two teens required transportation to area hospitals after a two vehicle wreck in Atchison County early Sunday morning.
Atchison County Sheriff Jack Laurie says it happened on Kansas Highway 9 near Monrovia. 19-year-old Zakkery Hollands of Effingham, and 18-year-old Brandon Olberding, also of Effingham, were driving dirt bikes without headlights just before 12:40, and collided head on.
Hollands was transported to Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph for treatment of a possible broken leg. A passenger on Olberding's bike, 19-year-old Atchison resident Megan Galley was transported to the Atchison Hospital for treatment of a possible minor head injury.
Olberding, and Hollands' passenger, 19-year-old Morgan Keimig (Ki-mig) were released from the scene with minor injuries.
Laurie says that it is believed that alcohol was contributing factor to the wreck, and both drivers are being investigated for driving under the influence.
