Short Pursuit Ends In Crash and Arrest
06/19/2015

(KNZA)--A 20-year-old Mayetta man is arrested after allegedly attempting to flee from authorities on a motorcycle.

Jackson County Sheriff Tim Morse says it happened Thursday night around 9:30 when a Deputy attempted to stop Tyler Area for an alleged traffic infraction on U.S. Highway 75 south of 142nd Road.

Instead of stopping his northbound motorcycle, Morse says Area allegedly turned east on 142nd Road in an attempt to elude the deputy. A one minute pursuit ended when Area lost control of the motorcycle and crashed.

First Responders and EMS were called to the scene, but Area refused treatment.

He was arrested and booked into the Jackson County Jail on charges including fleeing and eluding a law enforcement officer, reckless driving, and operating a motorcycle with no motorcycle license.
