Eight St. Joseph Residents Indicted on Meth Charges

(KNZA)--Eight St. Joseph residents are among eleven individuals that have been indicted by a federal grand jury for their roles in a $1 million conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine.     

KQ2-TV reports among those named as defendants in the indictment unsealed Wednesday were St. Joseph residents 24-year-old James Watts, 33-year-old Alan Mace, 37-year-old Robert Atkinson, 33-year-old Jason Valentine, 37-year-old Walter Kerns, 32-year-old Courtney Martin, 40-year-old Daryl Watts, and 52-year-old  Kevin Crossfield.

The eight along with the other three defendants are each charged with a felony count of conspiracy to distribute meth.

The federal indictment alleges the group conspired to distribute 25 kilograms of meth from Jan. 1, 2010 through May 19th of this year.

The indictment also contains an allegation of forfeiture for each of the defendants, which would require them to forfeit all proceeds obtained through the conspiracy.
