(KNZA)--Special recognition for a Kickapoo Council Member for his work with the American Legion.
That comes in the form of a Commander of the Year Certificate awarded to Russell Bradley by the Kansas Department of the American Legion.
Bradley has served as the Commander of the Native Americans Veterans Association American Legion Post #415 for the past five years.
Kickapoo Tribal Chairman Lester Randall, in a press release, says the Kickapoo Tribe is proud of Bradley's recognition, and notes how the timing of the award corresponds with Memorial Day.
Bradley also serves as the President of the Haskell Indian Nations University Board of Regents and is retired from the United States after serving at the Bureau of Indian Affairs for over 25 years.
