(KAIR)--Local Vietnam veterans will be honored this weekend at the sixth annual Everest Honor Ceremony.
The event is scheduled to take place Saturday afternoon in the Everest Middle School gymnasium. Starting at 2:00 with the ceremony's keynote speaker, Dr. Douglas Ubelaker.
The Rose Ceremony, honoring Vietnam veterans, will take place starting at 3:00 in the Honnell-Means Honor Garden in Everest Community Park. Following the ceremony, there will be a reception with light refreshments in the middle school gymnasium, with entertainment provided by the Washburn University Jazz Band.
Dr. Ubelaker is a 1964 graduate of Everest High School and has been the chief consultant for forensic anthropology to the FBI for over thirty five years, reporting on over 900 cases.
