(KNZA)-- The search continues for a new Brown County Appraiser.
County Commission Chairman Warren Ploeger announced this week that the Commission plans to seek additional applicants for the position after two individuals offered the job, declined. The two were among three interviewed by the Commission.
Ploeger said the county plans to send out letters to qualified individuals in the state in hopes of receiving additional applicants.
The position became open in late February following the unexpected death of Paula Jones who had held the position for the last six years.
Anna Porter, with the state Property Valuation Division, is assisting the county in filling the void until a new appraiser is hired.
