(KMZA)--A vacancy remains on the Seneca City Council.
City Administrator Matt Rehder Wednesday evening presented the Council with the lone application received for the open 3rd Ward Council seat from Jim Schmitz. The council decided to interview Schmitz at their next Council meeting on June 3rd.
The council says applications will still be accepted from those interested in filling the position. Application forms are available at City Hall.
The 3rd Ward includes the city territory south of Main Street.
The position will remain open until filled by an applicant of the Council’s choosing.
Jim Ronnebaum won the Council seat on write-in votes during the April 7th general election, but turned down the position. It was previously held by Galen Niehues, who didn’t seek re-election.
