Auburn Baseball Receives Donation
05/20/2015

(KLZA)-- Auburn American Legion Baseball Manager Kevin Reiman recently received a pleasant surprise in the mail.  A check, for $5,000 from the Kansas City Royals Charities.

Reiman said he had submitted a grant application last winter and had really forgotten about it when the letter arrived. The money from the Royals will be put with some other fund raising money to start some renovation work to the field.

The first project is improving the pitching mound and the infield.

Reiman says plans for the improvement will require about $20,000. Updates to the lights and the dugouts are also planned.

Most of the work to the field will begin after the Legion season ends. Next spring, the Auburn School District will begin their first varsity baseball season, also utilizing Tushla Field.
