(KAIR)--An Atchison woman was taken into custody after a police investigation into suspicious activity at an apartment complex.
Police Chief Mike Wilson says officers were called to the apartment located in the 100 block of South Seventh Street late Monday morning. Upon arrival, 33-year-old Calista Cairo and 51-year-old Atchison resident Donald Harvey were found in the residence. Neither resided in the apartment, but did have permission to be there. During the subsequent investigation, officers found what appeared to be marijuana, methamphetamine, and drug paraphernalia in Cairo's possession. It was also discovered that a district court warrant had been issued for Harvey.
Harvey and Cairo were taken into custody at the scene.
Cairo was booked into the Atchison County Jail on charges including possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of marijuana, while Harvey was booked on the failure to appear warrant.
The apartment's tenant is not facing any charges related to the case.
