(KNZA)--A former Jackson County fire chief has been placed on 18 months probation on a charge of felony theft.
Jackson County Attorney Shawna Miller says 45-year-old Ryan White was also ordered Friday to pay more than 36-hundred dollars restitution to the Soldier Ball Association and to return a radio to the Soldier Fire Department.
White was accused of stealing the money while serving as treasurer of the Association from August 2012 through May 2014.
The Jackson County Sheriff’s Department began an investigation after discrepancies were found in the Association’s accounting.
White pleaded guilty to the felony theft charge in April as part of a plea agreement. He had originally been charged with two counts of felony theft and five counts of misdemeanor theft.
