(KNZA)--A Topeka man convicted in the beating and sexual assaults of a Holton woman in 2013 has been sentenced to nearly 65 years in prison.
Jackson County Attorney Shawna Miller says 36-year-old Filip Rosario was sentenced Friday to a total of 775 months on six felony counts—including two counts of aggravated criminal sodomy, and one count each of rape, aggravated kidnapping, aggravated battery and criminal threat.
A jury in April found Rosario guilty of the charges. He was acquitted on a second count of rape and one count of attempted capital murder.
Authorities say the crimes were committed over period of several hours in December, 2013 in Holton.
Miller says Rosario will have to register as a sexual and violent offender for the remainder of his life.
