(MSC News)--An investigation is launched following the discovery of a body on a bridge near Saint Joseph, Missouri.
KQ2-TV reports the body, discovered on the Platte River Bridge over U.S. Highway 36 east of Saint Joseph, is that of a black man. The body was found around 6:30 Tuesday morning.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol is investigating.
Authorities say there are signs of trauma and believe the man had been riding in a vehicle prior to being on the bridge.
No identity has yet been made public.
The public's help is being sought as the investigation moves forward.
