Midwest Transmission Line Update
05/11/2015

(KLZA)--  Construction will begin this summer on the Midwest Transmission Line Project, a 345kV transmission line running from Nebraska to Missouri.

The final route for the project was selected in 2013. OPPD Manager of Transmission Engineering and Land Management Dannie Buelt says the right-of-way acquisition is nearly finalized. Once the easement acquisition process is complete, land preparation for construction will begin.

Preparation work will include tree trimming, tree removal and mowing. If OPPD workers cause any  damage to crops, soil compaction or issues with fences, waterways, terraces and waterways, OPPD will pay for the restoration of the affected area.

Anyone with questions may call the right-of-way hotline toll-free (800) 608-9646.

The anticipated in-service date for the power line is summer of 2017.  The total project cost is estimated to be around $400-million.
