NEBRASKA CITY, Neb. (AP) - A birding event has been scheduled for Hamburg Bend Wildlife Management Area in southeast Nebraska.
The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission says the Southeast District Birding Day on Tuesday will give people an opportunity to get into the field and learn more about birds.
Participants will be meeting in the area's parking lot at 7:30 a.m., and there will be a lunch at 11 a.m. They should bring binoculars, cameras, field guides and insect repellant.
People must contact Sam Cowan by 5 p.m. Friday at sam.cowan(at)nebraska.gov or 402-228-0301 and specify whether they will bring their own lunches or purchase lunches for $5 at the wildlife area.
The wildlife area sits southeast of Nebraska City.
