(KAIR)--A plea has been entered in the case of an Atchison man accused of taking financial advantage of a dependent family member.
47-year-old Dennis Thummel was scheduled to stand trial in front of a jury Tuesday in Atchison County District Court. Instead, he entered a plea of guilty to three counts of mistreatment of a dependent adult, three counts of theft, and one count of conspiracy to commit theft.
Sentencing has been set for June 8th.
Thummel, along with his 42-year-old wife Nancy, was arrested last March after a police investigation showed they had been taking financial advantage of a 24-year-old live in family member.
Nancy Thummel plead guilty last month to one count of conspiracy to commit theft. She is also scheduled to be sentenced June 8th.
