(KAIR)--An Atchison man, wanted for failing to appear in court, is facing a weapons charge after police allegedly found a gun on his property.
Police Chief Mike Wilson says officers arrived at an apartment located in the 1500 block of Applegate Drive Thursday afternoon to arrest 22-year-old Casey Crawford on a district court warrant for failure to appear. Police say they found Crawford sitting in a bedroom closet; and, when they located him, found an athletic bag containing what they say was a handgun.
Crawford was booked into the Atchison County Jail on charges including failure to appear and criminal possession of a firearm by a felon.
