(KAIR)--The Atchison Art Association is preparing to host the third annual Open Air Fair, set to take place this weekend.
Executive Director Deborah Geiger says the European style open market will be held at the Atchison Farmer's Market this year, since “it's a little bit more central to our town, and easy to get to, and plenty of parking...if you have trouble walking on the grass, this is a nice flat surface for you, and it is handicap accessible. Plus, we really couldn't not do it there, because the mural is there. It just seems like a perfect combination of amenities and backdrops.”
Geiger adds that there is sure to be something for everyone to enjoy at the fair including artists and artisans, farmers and growers, and “we have a few vintage vendors and obviously food.” Free trees will be given away for arbor day, and the Atchison Humane Society will be there for anyone who may be interested in adopting a pet.
Music will also be featured at the event. Geiger says “this year we have Atchisons Got Talent for our music, and we have about thirty people registered right now, and it is free to enter. There is a first place, second place, and third place. First place is $300....and it will play throughout the day.”
The Open Air Fair will be held from 10:00am-5:00pm Saturday. For more information or to reserve a booth, call 913-367-4278, or visit atchisonart.org.
