(KMZA)--The construction of a new press box is being proposed at the Nemaha Central High School football stadium.
Activities Director Warren Sietz presented a proposal to the Board of Education Monday evening to replace the current press box at the football stadium with a 40 foot- long press box which would be 15 foot longer than the current structure. The new box would be two full levels but the same height as the current one.
Seitz said the project is necessary due to overcrowding in the box during games. He said the work could be done using some volunteer labor.
The preliminary cost has been estimated at around $30,000. The price includes internet fiber cable at a cost of about $5,000 to $7,000 that could be installed at a later time.
Seitz has approached community and business members for monetary donations for the project and says he thinks he can raise half the cost. Sietz asked the board if they would be willing to approve partial funding as well.
It was the consensus of the board that if part of the funds could be donated, they would support the project. The board asked Seitz to solidify contributions before the next meeting.
