(KNZA)--A fire was reported at the Jackson County Jail early Wednesday morning.
Sheriff Tim Morse says jail staff reported a fire in the laundry room of the jail shortly after 5:15.
The Holton Fire Department responded to the scene, where the fire was extinguished.
Morse says it was determined the fire originated and was limited to a clothes dryer. He says smoke was isolated to the laundry and kitchen portions of the jail.
The building was ventilated and fire crews cleared the scene about 30 minutes later.
No injuries were reported.
