(KNZA)--A preliminary hearing has been set for next Thursday morning in Jackson County courtroom for a Horton man facing child sex charges in two counties.
Jackson County Attorney Shawna Miller says Holton attorney J. Richard Lake was appointed Thursday to represent 20-year-old Dallas Bond during a video arraignment hearing.
Bond was arrested Monday on six felony counts—including rape.
Authorities say Bond allegedly took a 9-year-old child, under false pretenses, to a Holton motel room last August where sexual offenses were committed.
Bond, who was a former dispatcher for the Brown County Sheriff’s office, is also facing five felony counts in Brown County involving the same child. A preliminary hearing in that case is now set for March 25th.
Bond remains in the Jackson County Jail.
