(KAIR)--A murder suspect was arrested Wednesday night in Weston, Missouri following a short vehicle pursuit that passed through two counties.
The Missouri Highway Patrol reports that Michael Burkman was spotted on I-29, in Andrew County, behind the wheel of a stolen vehicle; and, when Troopers attempted to stop him, he fled the scene, allegedly driving into Platte County, where Troopers lost sight of him as he traveled county roads. It was just minutes later they were alerted by the Platte County Sheriff's Department that Burkman had wrecked the vehicle in Weston.
Burkman, wanted for first degree murder in Wayne County, Missouri, was transported to St. Luke's Hospital in Kansas City for treatment of minor injures. He was then transferred to the Platte County Jail where he remains.
