Air Force Airman 1st Class Derek A. Floyd Graduated From Basic Military Training

Air Force Airman 1st Class Derek A. Floyd graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas.

The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.

Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

Floyd is the son of Linda Floyd of Topeka, Kan., and Timothy Floyd of Ellsworth, Kan. He is also the grandson of Don Collins and Ellen Adams of Topeka, Kan., and nephew of Barbra and Roger Collins of Holton, Kan., and Donnie Collins of Topeka, Kan.

The airman is a 2014 graduate of Highland Park High School, Topeka, Kan.
