(KMZA)--The Nemaha County Commission has reorganized for 2015.

As part of the re-organization approved Monday, full-time county employees will receive a 25-cent an hour pay raise. Commissioner Dennis Henry will serve as Commission Chairman for 2015.

In other business, the Commission heard an update on the construction of a new fire station in Corning. Nemaha County Fire District #2 was awarded a KAN-STEP grant through the Kansas Department of Commerce to help fund the project. Grant administrator Virginia Dienstbier said the project is 60 percent complete. The project is scheduled for completion April 30th.

Following an executive session, Sheriff Rich Vernon announced that he has hired Scott Anson, of Bern, to fill the open position in his department of jailer/corrections officer. Anson previously worked for the department.  He will begin work January 28th at $14.59 an hour.
