(KNZA)--The Kansas Department of Transportation has approved bids for several area projects.
In Atchison County, Dustrol Inc. of Towanda received the contract for the milling and overlay of nearly 14 miles of U.S. 59 from the Atchison/Jefferson County line to the south city limits of Atchison for nearly $1.3 million.
Also in Atchison County, Midwest Construction Company of Holton was awarded the contract for a bridge replacement project on a county road about 7 ½ miles southeast of Atchison for nearly $565,000.
In Brown County, a bid was approved from Reece Construction Company of Scandia for the replacement of culvert on U.S. 36 about eight-tenths of a mile east of the Brown/Nemaha County line for nearly $136,000.
In Jackson County, Hamm Inc. of Perry was awarded a contract the milling and overlay of a two mile portion of K-214 from the south junction of US-75 to the north junction of Highway 75 for just over $195,000.
In Pottawatomie County, APAC Kansas Inc. of Hutchinson received the contract for a milling and overlay project on about 19 miles of K-16 from the intersection with K-99 to the K-63 junction for a cost of more than $2.5 million.
The start date for the projects hasn't been announced. Bids were opened December 17th in Topeka.
