(KAIR)--An Atchison woman convicted of charges in a check forgery case will has been sentenced to probation.
18-year-old Rachel Sutton was sentenced Monday in Atchison County District Court on a felony charge of forgery to eighteen months of supervised probation. Judge Martin Asher also ordered her to pay nearly $400 in restitution to the two businesses effected by the worthless checks.
Sutton was arrested in late November after a police investigation showed that she was involved in the theft of several personal checks from a residence located in the 1100 block of Kansas Avenue. Three of the checks had been cashed at a local convenience store earlier that month.
24-year-old Cinnamon Cash, who also allegedly took part in the theft, remains free on a $10,000 bond, and is scheduled to make her next court appearance on January 12th.
