(KAIR)--A new status hearing date has been set for an Atchison teen accused of a sex crime.
Judge Martin Asher set the new date Monday afternoon to give the attorney for 17-year-old Dequan Rawles more time to review the case. Leavenworth attorney Ben Casad had recently been appointed to represent Rawles, and did not have a new report on the case.
Rawles is next scheduled to appear in court on December 29th.
Rawles, who was 16-years-old at the time the crime allegedly occurred, was certified as an adult because he was on probation for another sex related crime when the alleged incident took place.
Rawles and two other teens are accused of having unlawful sexual relations with a thirteen year old female victim during three, unrelated instances in October 2013.
19-year-old Daryle Smith earlier plead guilty to aggravated indecent solicitation of a child, and is scheduled to be sentenced Thursday. 19-year-old Clifford Johnson is scheduled for a status hearing on the same day.
Both Smith and Johnson were 17-years-old when the alleged crime occurred.
