(KAIR)--Dozens gathered in front of Atchion's Soldiers and Sailor's Memorial Hall Monday afternoon to re dedicate the newly upgraded building.
A flag raising started the ceremony followed by the Pledge of Allegiance, led by Mayor Dave Butler. Butler then addressed the crowd, which included many local vets, speaking of his many memories of the hall growing up, and thanking the many people who had a hand in the remodel.
County Commission Chairman Jeff Schuele was next, giving a small history of the revitalization effort and thanked the revitalization committee for their hard work and commitment.
The project included a remodel for the front of the hall, a new roof, and handicap accessible restrooms.
The ceremony was originally scheduled to take place on Veteran's day, but unfinished work pushed the date back.
