(KAIR)--A police investigation into several missing checks led to the arrest of two Atchison women Thursday.
According to Atchison Police Chief Mike Wilson, the investigation started earlier Thursday when the 48-year-old victim reported that several personal checks had been removed from her residence in the 1100 block block of Kansas Avenue sometime in the weeks prior. Three of the checks had been cashed at a local convenience store in early November for amounts less than $100 each.
Police were able to identify 24-year-old Cinnamon Cash and 18-year-old Rachel Sutton as having been allegedly involved with the theft.
Both women were booked into the Atchison County Jail on a charge of theft, with Cash facing an additional charge of forgery.
