Falls City Middle School Students Donate to Cancer Fund

(KLZA)-- The 7th annual Chautauqua Night performances by the Falls City Middle School eighth grade class brought ins $600 that will be donated to charity. 

This years topic was 20th Century People, those who have become famous for their achievements throughout the 20th Century.

Once a quarter was placed in the collection device the students would perform their program of the famous person. Two weeks of practices took place prior to the performance. 

This year the eighth grade class voted to donate their earnings to the Richardson County Cancer Fund which provides monetary assistance to Richardson County residents for transportation costs incurred during cancer treatments outside of Richardson County. 

Since the first Chautauqua program in 2008, the project has raised more than $4,700 for charitable causes.

The Falls City Middle School and the eighth grade class thanks the community for their contributions and support.
